Nice goal for Scunny against Hull .. pre season friendly with only 2.5 sides of the ground open hence the unusual amount of empty seats

You mean they couldn't afford the bus?

No shame. Not like the Hibees

Here you go Butch ... :D

Scunthorpe united completed a very impressive pre season with a 2-1 home win over L1 Burton ..this on the back of draws against Hull from the Championship and Donny of L2 a 6-0 pasting of Gainsboro and 3-0 win at Ilkeston ... on to the new season with an all new squad thats actually looks like it will do very well at this level.

Away at Tamworth next Saturday with over 1000 scunny fans traveling to a club with an average gate of 850 ..

Bookies have Scunny 5/4 favs to win the NLN with Chester 7/1 after that 11/1 bar.

Scunny start the season with a hard fought 2-1 win away at Tamworth ... played in atrocious weather on a plastic 3G pitch the Iron sneaked it for their first away win on a Saturday since Nov 2020 ...thats how bad we have been.

More links n info to follow as highlight vids and post match opinions arrive.

That's a tough loss to suffer for Tamworth. Sir Robert Peel has to feel humiliated taking it on the chin losing to lowly Scunthorpe. Up the Iron, I guess.

The better team, Coventry City, was held to a scoreless tie.

Must say DM, your lads (and lass) look very fit for purpose out there on the grass. Here's the Accrington Stanley first team select for 2023/24 and it very much looks like they couldn't afford a professional snapper, so the skipper's girlfriend's daughter took the picture on her new iPhone. And why on earth are they sitting in the bloody stands, eh?

As info Tam ..Scunny have signed a young lad from Scottish PL side Hearts , Connor Smith , initially on loan with an option to buy ....made his debut away last Saturday and really looks promising.

SUFC break the NLN attendance record with 4860 attending the recent BH Monday fixture v Scarborough...

Scottish Power!!!

I was reading an interesting article in the Lancashire Post about the source of the El Lanclassico, the generations-old Blackburn and Burnley rivalry. Apparently, way back in time, the owners of both teams invested heavily in bringing SUPERIOR QUALITY SCOTTISH FOOTBALL PLAYERS to the otherwise mundane weekend outings of English football. This was in the years before the FA was invented and the first League promulgated. Notably, the seeds of the FA were sewn by these owners who had a vision for the future of the English game and both teams were among the signatories to the first ever English league. Furthermore, the undeniably EXCEPTIONAL PROWESS OF EXTREMELY TALENTED SCOTTISH PLAYERS was the reason why the "Cotton Town" teams absolutely dominated the early years of organized English league football.

Get rid of those tattoos and stop crying. Soccer is a man's game...oh...wait...it's for women and non-binaries too.
